Senate approves development plan for Urbane Mitte Süd 

With the approval of the development plan for Urbane Mitte Süd by the Berlin Senate, the urban quarter project has reached an important milestone. In the next step, the development plan will be submitted to the House of Representatives for approval. In the press release from the Senate Chancellery, Senator for Urban Development Christian Gaebler said: "With the development plan for Urbane Mitte Süd, we are creating the legal planning conditions for a lively, diverse urban quarter at Gleisdreieck. Together with the park and the excellent public transport connections, an urban place for Berliners is being created here in the center of the city. The development plan is an important first step in the implementation of the overall Urbane Mitte project."

Public participation for the Quartier Am Humboldthain completed

An important milestone has been reached with the conclusion of public participation in the development plan process for the Quartier Am Humboldthain (QAH). From December 16, 2024 to January 24, 2025, public participation in the urban land-use planning for the Quartier am Humboldthain took place. At the same time, the joint participation of the responsible bodies took place from December 6, 2024. The parallel participation process is a first in the Berlin-Mitte district and underlines the aim of completing the development plan process efficiently and with a high degree of planning certainty. Less than two years passed between the decision to draw up the development plan and its publication. The development plan is scheduled to be approved in the fall of 2025.
