Report on the results of the workshop process published
From August to November 2023, the workshop process for the Henschel Areal Kassel took place together with representatives from politics and administration as well as neighbors and interested citizens. The broad and early involvement of knowledge carriers and experts before the procedural steps of urban land-use planning is an important concern of the property owner. The aim of the process was to investigate a new use for the existing buildings and a new development of the site as part of a site development.
In three rounds of participation, including two expert dialogs and a citizens' dialog, information and comments on identity, unique selling points, uses, urban planning and development as well as public space were provided by the expert public and citizens from their respective professional and personal backgrounds. In addition, two specialist workshops were held on the subject of monument protection.
The results of the workshop process form the basis of the upcoming two-stage urban planning competition with invited architectural firms, which will start in June.
