Start-ups - the end of traditional office rental?

Digitization is changing the world of work. New business models and new forms of business organization are accompanied by new requirements in terms of office rental. What these developments mean for the industry, will be discussed by Dr. Markus Vogel, managing director of the BÜRO DR. VOGEL GMBH, with industry experts in the panel discussion  "Space professionals or industry professionals - who’s winning the rental race?" at Forum 1 | 2016 of the Society for Real Estate Research (gif) on April 20th 2016 in Berlin.

The demand for shorter rental periods and office and work spaces that can be flexibly configured is also having an effect on the office real estate sector. Traditional offices are less and less suited to the requirements of new companies. Due to the dynamic growth of start-ups, they need office space that can be flexibly adapted to current demands. At the same time, digitization is promoting the mobility of the place of work. The office real estate sector is therefore faced with the question as to how new rental models can be implemented in a financially sensible manner and whether, in the light of the ongoing digitization, traditional office rental has had its day.
