Dr. Markus Vogel is presenting the 5th BFW New Construction Forum on February 24th 2016

The demand for housing in metropolitan areas is growing. Especially in Berlin, the population is increasing faster than expected. This leads to the fact that the existing housing shortage must be addressed in a timely manner and that sufficiently cost-effective housing must be made available. The 5th BFW New Build Forum on February 24th 2016 is dedicated to these issues.

Generally speaking, broad political consensus exists with regards to the need to create new residential spaces, and this is reflected within the real estate industry. However, when engaging in new residential construction projects, companies are regularly confronted with barriers and new legal requirements. The cost of the construction projects increases. In light of the current housing situation therefore, the question of how costs can be reduced is of increasing importance.

The current refugee situation has exacerbated the housing situation. This presents the further challenge of integrating into an urban planning concept swift procurement for a large number of people, taking into account the special demands on the functionality.

Within the framework of the 5th BFW New Build Forum, both politicians and practitioners will discuss the current state of affairs and concepts for meeting the existing challenges facing residential construction. The event is being moderated by Dr. Markus Vogel, managing director of the BÜRO DR. VOGEL GMBH. The event is being organised by the BFW Federal Association of Independent of Real Estate and Housing Companies and the Berlin/Brandenburg BFW State Association.
