ABDA purchases new office building in Berlin’s Europacity

With its new office building in Berlin’s Europacity, the ABDA - Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists is expected to get a new prestigious location in the capital by 2019. In January 2016, ABDA signed a contract with the real estate company CA Immo for the lease and subsequent purchase of the future pharmacists’ building.

The transaction advisory services for ABDA were carried out by the Berlin consulting company BÜRO DR. VOGEL GMBH, accompanied in legal respects by Schwenke & Schütz and RAUE LLP.

The property is currently in a pre-project stage. As the current owner of the site, CA Immo is carrying out the further planning and construction of the building. The building on Heidestraße, designed by architects Kleihues+Kleihues , has been tailored specifically to meet the needs of the association. With an assembly hall, large conference areas and adjoining rooftop terraces, there will be more capacity for events than at the previous site.

Following completion, the plan is to lease the building to ABDA for the first two years. Following this, ABDA will assume ownership of the building by means of a purchase transaction. As a special feature of the execution of the purchase, ABDA is committing - before planning and construction - to purchase the property at a later date regardless of the rental period.

During the development and implementation process, the BÜRO DR. VOGEL GMBH will support ABDA in the exercise of their user, tenant and purchaser interests, right up until the relocation in 2019.
